As a board member of the Mako Foundation, I am constantly inspired to continue our work because of the overwhelming joy and satisfaction I feel when I witness the people we help find happiness and hope. Discovering my true calling and purpose has been a fulfilling journey, and it is rooted in extending kindness to others whenever possible. I am honored to be a part of an organization that shares this belief and strives to make a positive impact on the world

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to pursue the "American dream" by coming to the USA, but I never forgot my humble beginnings and where I came from. This is why I am deeply committed to giving back and providing opportunities for those who are less fortunate and may not have access to the same education and comforts that I have been privileged to receive.

In the early stages of our foundation, my main goal was to make a meaningful difference by extending a helping hand to those in need. Initially, I envisioned our organization to be small and efficient, capable of delivering targeted assistance to those who require it the most. As time progressed, I came to realize that the Mako Foundation represents much more than just an aid provider - it is a catalyst for community building, enabling people to come together towards a shared purpose. Our work embodies a legacy that future generations will take pride in, and I am honored to play a role in this transformational journey.
Director of Development- Zeytuna Felema
From a young age, I bore witness to the tremendous difficulties and challenges faced by many citizens in Ethiopia. Even after immigrating to America, I could not forget the plight of the less fortunate individuals I left behind. However, with the unwavering support of my cherished friends and family, I embarked on a journey to establish the Mako Foundation. As one of its founding members, I am incredibly proud to have transformed my lifelong dream into a tangible reality, enabling me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need

When I was introduced to the Mako Foundation several years ago, I was immediately drawn to its mission and felt compelled to contribute as an active member. It was a true honor and thrilling opportunity when I was asked to join the Board. Since then, I have dedicated a great deal of time and effort to ensure that our promised support for families in need is delivered with care and compassion. I am proud to be a part of such a worthwhile cause and have never regretted my decision to serve on the Board.
